Someone once told me that all you need to do to change the world is to start noticing new things.
I had the unfortunate common experience of algorithms selecting what it is I see and therefore impacting my world view. For many of us, this typically means being exposed to more advertising or something equally unimportant. For me, it was the world I was forced into after spending some time researching a commission - The Last Kiss 2.0. Google decided that my interest lies in the nuclear state of the world. I came to believe that we are in particularly murky waters.
Its funny how relevant it is now. Its funnier still how my map of reality was changed, and how I was lucky to recognize it. Nobody laughed though.
